Mobi-QoE
Monitoring and Analysis of Quality of Experience in
Mobile Networks

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Quality of Experience (QoE) is a well-known concept in the networking research community, but its development has been traditionally limited to laboratory studies. We are witnessing a growing demand from mobile operators for more user-centric approaches to manage their networks in an increasingly competitive scenario. This need has boosted the research interest in scaling QoE out of the lab, bringing it into the management of operational networks. This combined industry/research growing interest in QoE-based solutions for network management motivates the Mobi-QoE initiative.

Data Analytics

Mobi-QoE relies on data analytics to get useful user-centric insights from large-scale network measurements

QoE-based Monitoring

Large-scale network traffic monitoring and analysis is the central application for Mobi-QoE developments.

BENCHMARKING

We apply the tools and models from Mobi-QoE to study different MBB measurement problems, such as ISPs and technology benchmarking.

Mobi-QoE activities are partially funded by the EU H2020 MONROE project. MONROE is conceiving and operating the first European transnational open platform for independent, large-scale monitoring and assessment of performance of mobile networks in heterogeneous environments.
